She kept everyone from harm, except herself…
Raielle’s life was shrouded in secrets. Her power was a secret and so was her past. When she came to Fort Upton, everything changed. She discovered her family, and she found the boy who would own her heart forever. But it couldn’t last. Knowing so little about her power nearly destroyed her. She had to leave and break both their hearts.
Now she’s back in California, and she doesn’t have to hide who she is anymore. But there is no relief in that because she’s drowning in regret. She knew it would take a miracle or a sin to save her, and there was no miracle. Her survival came at too high a price. She found her father, but she can’t go back to Lucas until she finds redemption.
She saved him. Then she left him…
She came out of nowhere and changed him forever, then she disappeared and left him reeling. Her whole life, she never had anyone who really loved her. Until him. Did she think he wouldn’t come for her? Did she believe she wasn’t worth it?
Lucas leaves everything behind to follow Raielle. When he finds her, she’s a pale shadow of the girl he remembers. Her power is betraying her and so are the people around her, but one thing hasn’t changed. She selflessly wants to save the world, and he just wants to save her.
With more secrets to uncover and dark truths to face, Raielle and Lucas must make sacrifices to be together again. But in the end, will those sacrifices bring them closer together or tear them apart? When he’s forced to make the ultimate sacrifice, will she turn her back on everything she believes in to save him again?

I came across this incredible book in 2013 that I completely fell in love with. Keep You From Harm was one of my favourite novels of 2013 and finally we get to experience the sequel. Debra has followed-up with an entertaining and enjoyable sequel that provides answers and new challenges for both Raielle and Lucas.
Keep You From Harm ended in a cliff-hanger that made me ache for this book. From the beginning we discover that Lucas follows Raielle to LA and waits for her for 8 months until he finally gets to see her again. I liked where the book started off because you skipped that loneliness between both Raielle and Lucas in that time frame apart. There was more of an impact and a statement made from the instant climax to the story. Debra has taken a different direction in the way that this book is set out – moving from what I believed was a Paranormal Romance to a Paranormal New Adult novel. There is definitely a variety of technique in this series.
There was the introduction of a few new characters in this book; some I liked and others.. not so much. Though these characters are detrimental to the story, Raielle and Lucas are still the stars of the show. I would happily be consumed in a bubble of Ray and Lucas any day of the week!
This time around we get to read both Raielle and Lucas’ POVs which is great to see how Lucas actually thinks; I felt like I was really meeting him for the first time. This book doesn’t end on a cliff-hanger but I feel that there are a few unanswered questions for some of the other characters in the sequel. I don’t know if Debra intends to give these characters a voice but I wouldn’t be disappointed to get my hands on those books. Maybe some more Grant? I’m excited to see what Debra writes next; even if it isn’t a Remedy novel.
