Abby King has a secret fantasy.
New York knows Nathaniel West as the brilliant and handsome CEO of West Industries, but Abby knows he’s more: a sexy and skilled dominant who is looking for a new submissive. Yearning to experience a world of pleasure beyond her simple life as a librarian, Abby offers herself to Nathaniel, to fulfill her most hidden desires.
After only one weekend with the Master, Abby knows she needs more, and fully submits to Nathaniel’s terms. But despite the pleasure he takes in Abby’s willing spirit, the Nathaniel hidden behind the rules remains cold and distant.
As Abby falls deeper into his tantalizing world of power and passion, she fears that Nathaniel’s heart may be beyond her reach—and that her own might be beyond saving…
4.5 star review!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK. This is my second time reading it and it is just as good as the first time! I decided to reread it because The Dominant was recently released and I felt like I needed to refresh my memory of this novel in Abby’s POV before I read it in Nathaniel’s.
I admire Abby’s need to become Nathaniel’s submissive. She not only does it for herself, but because she wants to be with him. She has never been a submissive before and it just shows her determination by jumping into the deep end with Nathaniel.
“And as we danced, I knew one thing – I was dangerously close to falling more than just a little bit in love with Nathaniel West.”
In Abby’s perspective, we learn that Nathaniel has played a major role in her past; he prevented her mother from losing their house to foreclosure, six years prior. Later on we also discover that Nathaniel has been secretly infatuated with her for a long time, after noticing her while she was in college when he was visiting his best friend Todd on campus.
When Abby’s life is put in harms way in an accident, I completely swooned over the care that Nathaniel possesses towards her and the hope that he would open up to her in every capacity. Then there was the tears after he doesn’t reciprocate Abby’s love for him. You have to have learnt by now that I am an emotional wreck in sad, happy or funny moments in any book!
“Every time he took a breath, I wanted my memory to haunt him with the knowledge that it was all his fault.”
I cannot wait to read Abby and Nathaniel’s story from Nathaniel’s perspective. I also can’t wait to read the continuation of their story in The Training.
