Naomi Knox is missing.
I don’t even f*cking know whether she’s dead or alive.
What I do know is that she’s the air I need to breathe.
She’s my redemption, an all consuming fire that burns in my blood.
And I’ll do anything to find her. Anything. Even if it means the end for me.
Turner Campbell is searching.
But he has no f*cking clue what it is he’s searching for.
There’s darkness all around and enough secrets to choke.
There are angels, and there are devils. It’s impossible to tell them apart.
Light needs to be shone on the truth, but there’s no one left to hold the torch. The line between life and death is blurred, and the players are all thoroughly entrenched in the game. The question is: am I still one of them?
4.5 star review!
After the cliff-hanger in Real Ugly (Hard Rock Roots #1), it was great to finally get some answers. Though the story is still not over and we now have to countdown till the release of the third instalment in the series.
The first chapter portrays the way that Turner Campbell is struggling after Naomi Knox has gone missing. There is no certainty whether she is dead or alive, but he believes that she will come back to him. (Note to readers: please be warned that there is explicit details of drug use in this novel!)
“I fell in love with a girl last week. I didn’t expect it, didn’t even know what was happening to me until it was too late. Now that there’s a chance I’ve lost her, I know I’d do anything to get her back.”
Naomi is assumed dead. Everyone believes that she is the unidentified body left behind in the Amatory Riot tour bus. But is there a chance she is still alive? Considering the story is written in Turner and Naomi’s POVs; you can only assume that Naomi is still with us. It’s suppose to be a love story and if Naomi was killed off, I am sure that C.M. Stunich would have a whole lot of Turner and Naomi fangirls to answer too. She’s safe for now, but there is no telling what will happen in the next book.
“Confusion. Surprise. Pain.
These are the three things that came before the blackness.”
Throughout the first half of the novel, Turner will stop at nothing to find Naomi. He can’t function without the one person that makes his heart beat. It’s amazing to see this side of Turner, and you can’t help but love him that little bit as he tries desperately to save Naomi.
“It’s my friggin’ heart that’s bleeding and my love that’s lost at sea.”
And let me tell you, C.M. Stunich is killing me with these cliff-hangers. Though the one in this novel was nothing compared to the end of Real Ugly, it sucks to know that the demons hunting Turner and Naomi are just waiting to attack again.
Available for purchase on Amazon.
