First Review: Fallen Too Far (Too Far #1) by Abbi Glines

To want what you’re not supposed to have…
She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

5 star review!

When I first read this book it was a self published eBook and now it one of the most popular reads in the Young Adult/New Adult category. I tend to judge a book buy its cover and the cover for Fallen Too Far is one of my all time favourites. Already being a fan of Abbi’s novels after reading the Sea Breeze series, I had high hopes for the first book of the Too Far series and she did not disappoint.

Blaire Wynn is the leading lady and narrator for the series. She is one strong 19 year old that has had her fair share of low points in her life. After her father walked out on her family, she spent years looking after her sick mother who eventually loses her battle to cancer. Blaire is then left with nothing and must reach out to her father for a place to live. This is where Rush Finlay walk into Blaire’s life (RUSH CRUSH!).

Rush Finlay is Blaire’s new step brother. He makes it very clear that she is not welcome in his house as soon as she arrives. Though it seems that Rush is not exactly as immune to Blaire as first thought. There are many family secrets that unfold throughout the novel that lead to unexpected truths, heartbreak and a whole lot of tears.

This story epitomises the joy, downfalls and heartbreak of first love; while showing that sometimes it just might not be worth trusting someone with your whole heart.

“His eyes never left mine. I held his gaze. I could see the storm in his eyes. I knew he was confused. I could even see the fear. Then there was the love. I saw it. The fierceness in his eyes. I believed it. I could see it clearly. But it was too late now. The love wasn’t enough. Everyone always said that love was enough. It wasn’t. Not when your soul was shattered.”

Are you ready to fall in love with Blaire and Rush?
